  (概況)

  佛光寺建于1500多年前的北魏孝文帝年間,面積3.4萬平方米。坐東向西,與一般的寺院不同。寺院的北、東、南三面環山,西面面臨開闊的泗陽河古地,是中國古代文物的大觀園。

  全寺整體布局構成了全國現存寺院中獨一無二的十字交叉軸線。從建筑布局來講,這種開門見山天地寬的寺院布局風格,同其他寺院的庭院深深深幾許小園香徑獨徘徊大相徑庭,呈現的是盛唐氣象。梁思成先生稱贊佛光寺誠中華第一國寶也。

  下面,請大家和我一起登上前面的臺階,去欣賞這些光輝中國古建筑史冊的奇跡。

  眼前的這座東大殿是中國木結構成熟時期最完美的代表作。梁思成先生將東大殿的唐代建筑、塑像、壁畫、題字譽為四絕。

  東大殿的左側,是一座建于北魏的中國第二古塔—祖師塔。這座祖師塔是一座六角形兩層磚塔。他的建筑年代僅晚于嵩岳寺塔。祖師塔的建筑特色可以說無處不在,兩層門洞做成拱券式等都保留了印度早期佛塔的特征。佛光寺后的山坡和寺前的草坪上還保留著7座古塔,6座建于唐代,1座建于金代,這8座古塔都是研究我國古塔建筑藝術的珍貴文物,也組成了我國最古老的塔林。

  祖師塔旁的這座經幢為文殊殿,是金代遺物,是我國佛寺中最大的配殿。(從外部看)大家來看這座斗拱,在水平交叉的十字拱之間斜伸出來的就是所謂的斜拱。斜拱的運用是遼、金時期建筑的顯著特征。從殿內看,文殊殿最大的特點是將減柱營造法運用到了無以復加的地步。大家是不是覺得從來沒有一座古代殿堂讓我們感覺到像文殊殿這樣空曠寬敞?這就是減柱法成就的效果。

  殿內四壁上還保存著570多年前的明朝所繪500羅漢圖,現在保存完好的還有245尊,請大家繞殿內參觀。
