　　在學校，最大的樂土莫過于實驗室，即使基礎實驗成了理工科學生最為詬病的孱頭。雖然無法完全掌控實驗，但我力爭求變，看到自己的思想被證實或被否定，實在是一件樂事。兒時與土地的親近和十幾年“住院”（live in the hospital）生活讓我對實驗操作本身頗有體會。特別是動物實驗，被同學叫去在扎滿耳孔的兔子耳朵上尋找“立針之地”的往往是我。三年來，十幾門實驗課，門門都是優秀，每每成為實驗同伴偷懶的理由，這也是大學時光里的一個美好的回憶。

　　說到進化，XX年的春天，非典疑云籠罩京城之際，我和幾個朋友受邀到中央電視臺科教頻道與南京大學、天津大學的朋友一起參加關于恐龍滅絕的話題的討論。我們提出的復原恐龍生殖生態模型的觀點得到了著名古生物學家董枝明和甄朔南的一致肯定。從北京趕回濟南后五天，非典隔離開始。同樣因為非典，中央臺的節目錄制陷入停頓，我們的節目“有幸”被重播四次之多，希望我們的觀點能夠得到更多人的認可。

　　不過，比之討論恐龍滅絕，我更喜歡探討生命的誕生。在這里，進化不僅僅是一個生物學課題，更是一個哲學命題。我對進化生物學及進化基因組學的認識將在下面的一篇小文中展開，在此就不加贅述了。
