一、評價目標一致,卻籠而統之
自我評價是指個人自我觀察后按照自我確定的行為標準評判自己的行為。在小學英語教學中,學生的自我評價意識只是出于萌芽階段,無論是學習活動還是學習方法、學習策略,基本都是在教師的指引下一步步開展的。因而教師雖然有意識地在理念和形式上強調學生的自我評價,其實根本上還是籠而統之的限定性評價。例如,在學習fruit這一話題時,學生的第一關自評是能否認讀水果單詞;第二關自評是能否正確拼寫水果單詞的單復數;第三關自評是能否用所學詞匯進行熟練對話。在限定的評價中,學生自然只能選擇某一項評價。因此,班中的優等生通過評價認為自己已經完成了學習任務,不再有新的目標和要求,更不知學習方法或學習策略還有不足之處。相反,班中的學困生永遠只能作最低的自我評價,這種限定的評價并沒有給予學生鼓勵和信心,反而早早地讓學生有了學生群體分層、分類的概念。
學生之間的差異更加明顯,甚而導致英語學習上的兩極分化日趨嚴重。因而,有時評價目標的一致必定也代表了它自身的限制性,教師的引導性評價要更慎重。
二、評價方式多樣,卻流于形式
自我評價不僅是對學習結果的檢測,其本身也是一種重要的學習手段。然而,小學生的自我評價水平有限,必須依靠教師的正確指導才能明確為什么要進行自我評價,評價目標是什么,評價方式是什么。一般來說,評價的方式主要有量化表,寫學習日記(反思),建立學習檔案,作業展示等。但在小學階段,在老師的指導下,形式主要體現為量化表。比如星級制(一顆星至五顆星),等級制(ABC等第),是非制(是或者否)等。在低年級教學中,學生對星級制的評價還是比較感興趣的,因為低年級學生愛表揚,喜比較,能得到多少不一的小紅星,學習成功感很容易獲得。但是,對于中高年級的學生而言,小紅星的吸引力就不大了,他們有自我保護意識,也有學習上的焦慮,更有辨別學習簡易的能力。這些自評方式既沒有發展學生的認知、提高學生學習的興趣,幫助學生分析問題,更沒有培養學生的思維方法,提高學生的綜合素質。學生們只是在回答老師換種形式的問題而已,何來的評價后發展。
三、評價內容豐富,卻缺乏反饋
隨著課程改革的不斷深入,教育評價改革也提出了“多元化評價”的理念。評價內容不僅包括學習任務的'達成度,還應包括:學習動機、學習態度、學習策略和學習效果的自我認定。然而在實際教學中,在教學測試的指揮棒影響下,教師往往只關注學習任務方面學生的自我評價,對學習動機、策略等方面的評價指導較少,反饋更少,因而教師對學生的自我評價指導有時只是流于形式和表面化,導致評價結果比較片面和模糊,令學生產生心理壓力。就如小學高年級letter話題學習中,學生可以對自己的學習進行自我評價:

四、評價主體明確,卻因人而異
教學需要評價,尤其需要教者與學者的自我評價。沒有評價的教是盲目的教,不重視自我評價的學,則是被動地學。在實際教學中,雖然大家已經有了生本的概念,但實際操作起來,卻因人而異。由于小學生的年齡和心理特點,判斷事物的辨析力和自我評價的能力都比較薄弱,因而我們所期待的評價過程、評價結果、評價反饋與發展都并不理想。例如,在自我評價環節,有的高年級學生是“報喜不報憂”,對自己的評定等級總是A等;有的同學長期受自卑心理影響,以及對英語學習興趣的降低,對自己的評定等級又總是C等或D等;有的學生是從眾心理,看見別人如何評價就如法炮制地給自己隨便定了一個等第;還有的學生自以為“謙虛是美德”,從而給自己較低的評價。因而,此時的自我評價對教者和學者而言都沒有實際的參考意義,隨心所欲的自我評定并沒有強調科學的自評方法和用真實的反饋指導來加以檢測。
