  As long ago as I can remember I have always been fascinated by the naturalworld. That childish fascination has not left me but deepened over the years.This interest has led me to my love of biology, ecology, animal behavior andevolution.

  Following my graduation from High School I studied Biological Sciences fortwo years at the Catholic University of Chile in Santiago. From March 20xx toNovember 20xx I was obliged to take a break from my studies at university as myfather was moving from the city to a more remote rural area. While helping myfather I was able to work closely with birds of prey among others and I wassuccessful in breeding the endangered chinchillas.   Since coming to Oxford and studying at OLT I have improved my writtenEnglish a great deal. I am a member of The Natural History Museum (London) andrecently attended a course called "The History of Evolution." The course wasorganized by Birkbeck Collegeand took place at the Natural History Museum inLondon each Wednesday. The course has been fascinating and has served to confirmmy suspicion that the more I learn of this subject the more I want to know.

  I am hopeful that my previous studies in Santiago, my maturity and myexperience in this field will allow me to enter the second year of anundergraduate programme in the UK. After completing my undergraduate it is mywish to continue studying at postgraduate level and ultimately conduct my ownresearch in this area.

  My other academic interests include Paleoanthropology, and the history anddevelopment of science. I am most interested in the writings of Darwin andThomas and Henry Huxley.

  I am keen on fitness training, horse riding, trekking and diving. I am mostinterested in all outdoor pursuits. I am also keen to develop my newly foundskills in classical singing and dance.

  "All I know about leadership I learned . . ." What items could a person use to describe leadership qualities?

  Inspired by the student council advisors at my high school.

  Student council was a big part of my life in high school. I have participated in it since my frst year of high school. When I frst joined, I was quiet, na?ve, and unwilling to participate in many activities. I was scared to meet new people and afraid to apply myself. This all began to change. Half way through my frst year in student council, one of the advisors can up to me and asked why I did not participate that much. I did not have an answer for her and did not know how to respond. After this, I began to think of an answer. I became frustrated and decided to change. I started to show up at events and had a great time. I realized I loved this and wanted to start leading these activities. In my sophomore, junior, and now my senior year of high school, I asserted myself and took on a strong leadership role in student council. I did not fgure out the answer to why I was so reserved until this year with the help of this question.

  When I looked up leadership in the dictionary, it said that it was the capacity to lead and the act or instance of leading. These are two very broad defnitions of leadership. Many people have different notions of what this word actually means. When I was challenged to use different items to describe what leadership actually is, I thought this was going to be a hard and obnoxious task. What could I learn comparing leadership to a stuffed animal or a rubber chicken? But when I sat down to come up with a couple of answers, I realized that leadership could be compared to almost anything a person wants.

  All I know about leadership I learned a calculator. A calculator can add everything together to come up with the best answer. It can delet e what is unnecessary and only include what is important. It can solve any type of problem. These are all important equalities a leader has to have. A leader has to be able to add all of the ideas together to make the best possible plan. Leaders have to know how to decipher the good and the bad out of an idea. They have to be versatile and know how to deal with different types of issues.

  All I know about leadership I learned a ball. A ball is able to bounce back up after it is dropped. It is round and has no creases. A ball can be thrown back and forth to different people. All of these qualities are also leadership qualities. A leader has to be ready for every situation that is thrown at him or her. He or she has to be able to bounce back any setbacks and never dwell on the past. Leaders have to exhibit many qualities and never be closed-minded about a situation. A leader must be able to delegate when he or she cannot get the work done. They have to trust everyone they lead to be able to "catch the ball" and keep a project rolling.

  This activity made me realize that being a leader is so much more than just having authority and having the ability to take control of a situation. A leader has to be trusting of all the people he or she leads and, leaders must be able to combine ideas into one encompassing idea. They cannot sit in the background and watch events happen; they have to jump in and be involved. They should not delegate all their responsibilities away.

  Leadership is more than what the dictionary says it is.

  I learned through all of this that I have many of these qualities.

  I have the ability to solve problems, lead through adversity, and be versatile. From answering this question, I realized that I could lead effectively, even if my leadership style is different other individuals. When I joined student council in my frst year of high school, I did not have these qualities because I was never put into a situation where I had to lead. I was too reserved to try. When I tried, I learned that I could succeed in this. I did not realize until I answered this question about leadership. I was never able to see that being a leader is not just about taking control of a group and telling everyone what to When I was a freshman, I thought leadership was this. I did not know that did not have to be forceful and strict. I stereotyped a leader then. Thisis where I went wrong. A leader is about being yourself and never letting anyone change you.   Since the last few years, I had aspired to become a doctor.The idea of"scalpels," "opened chests" and "sutures" had always intrigued me.And then ithappened!The recent unprecedented events in my country wiped off the dust ofdisillusionment from my eyes;I lost my will to become a doctor.However,theturmoil in the country led me towards newspapers and news channels,and hencePolitics.

  As I involved myself into politics,I realized that it isall-embracive-wielding its way over social and economic life-it is theomnipotent of Pakistan.It can mobilize public opinion,gear up propagandamachinery,make or repeal laws and what not.Backed up by public opinion,supportedby the majority of the legislators,armed with the means to keep the people in astate of ignorance,political power crosses the limits of dictatorialpowers.Political power,like the most powerful intoxicant,makes the persons inpower to forget social ethics,political morality and obligations.

  Most of the learned youth in this country consider Politics to be "a refugefor the scoundrels" and this derogatory remark may be true if we look at thedeceptive and degenerated type of politicians indulging in a dirty game.Allthese political parties are votaries of democracy,but the way they conductthemselves inside their own parties is nothing but senselessauthoritarianism.Therefore a very few students choose to pursue Politics as aprofession,but what they don't realize is that if we don't take a stand thesystem can never be changed.Thus,I want to study Politics so I can come back tomy country and contribute what little I can do for my homeland and its people.IfI can inspire even a single person,it would be worth it.The world today isgrowing global.We are now not only to think of our own nation but as and when wethink of it,we have to keep the international perception in mind;consequently,Ichose Politics with International Relations as one of my courses.

  Studying in UK will breed a sense of individuality and self reliance.Iwould be able to interact with people from everywhere and get to know abouttheir culture.This would not only open new horizons for me,but would also clearsome preconceived notions one has about the other.I have always been an activeparticipant of debates.I have participated in 3 Model UN conferences out ofwhich I was awarded with the Best Delegate award in two. I was also one of thetwo students to be selected from my school to participate in the EnglishSpeaking Union '08.Moreover, I've taken part in Parliamentary style debatestoo.Therefore I believe I can communicate effectively in public and languagewill not be a barrier in my education.Furthermore, I have worked as an interneeat Al-Shifa Eye Hospital for a month in summers.Here I learnt how to deal withpatients,use the Auto Ref, handle files and punctuality.We also campaigned to aremote area near Murree where we helped the doctors in examining the patientsfree of cost.Another experience which taught me a lot was when me and my fellowcolleagues volunteered to paint walls for the SOS Children's Village.Inaddition,I worked with SUNGI (NGO) where a group of 5 of us had to organize anevent to pay tribute to 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize.

  留學(xué)馬來西亞體檢準(zhǔn)備攻略

  一、體檢準(zhǔn)備

  1.材料準(zhǔn)備

  要準(zhǔn)備的材料不算多,主要是大家的身份證明,即本人的護(hù)照和簽證,由于是新生居留和學(xué)生卡可能還沒有發(fā)放,所以直接出示自己的護(hù)照以及簽證,就足夠證明本人的合法身份了。

  然后是進(jìn)行體檢的表格(Health ExaminationForm),可以抵達(dá)后領(lǐng)取,也可以直接在上下載,里面又涉及到基本信息的內(nèi)容是需要自己填的,而且還需要貼上最近的照片。

  2.身體準(zhǔn)備

  體檢的前一天要保證正常的飲食和作息,這樣才會有一個比較健康的身體狀況,而且當(dāng)天要記得吃了早飯再去,不然可能會低血糖,而且要記得多喝水,因?yàn)橐M(jìn)行尿檢。

  女生要特別注意避開經(jīng)期,因?yàn)轶w檢中部分的項(xiàng)目是在經(jīng)期的時候不能做的,大家再進(jìn)行預(yù)約的時候,一定要保證自己不是在經(jīng)期或者即將到來,保證自己能夠完成所有的項(xiàng)目檢查。

  二、體檢地址

  基本上各大合法的診所和醫(yī)院,都是可以進(jìn)行體檢的,其結(jié)果都會受到認(rèn)可,大家選擇距離自己比較近的就可以了,不過由于需要進(jìn)行胸透等檢查,所以要確保診所有X光設(shè)備。

  三、體檢流程

  首先要做的就是填表,完善表格的基本信息,如果大家在家已經(jīng)填好了可以在現(xiàn)場節(jié)省這一步驟,然后就是接受尿檢,需要去廁所取樣,記得多喝水才能夠順利的拿到樣品。

  緊接著就是去五官科進(jìn)行視力、耳鼻口的檢查,近視的學(xué)生可以直接報自己的視力,這樣不需要摘眼鏡,還需要測身高和體重;緊接著是測量血壓,然后會抽血準(zhǔn)備樣品檢查。

  最后就是去進(jìn)行X光檢查,對內(nèi)臟進(jìn)行直接的胸透,需要脫掉上衣,女生也要脫內(nèi)衣,檢查是比較快的,大家不需要擔(dān)心,整個過程大概兩個小時,完成后就可以回家等結(jié)果了。

  馬來西亞留學(xué)行李清單

  一、證件類

  去馬來西亞讀書,證件是一定不能少帶的。如果你少帶了哪樣證件的話,連出入境都是不行的,更別說去馬來西亞的學(xué)校辦理入學(xué)的手續(xù)了。身份證的原件你可以不需要帶,但是護(hù)照是一定要帶的,還有學(xué)校給你發(fā)的錄取通知書,對你辦理入學(xué)是非常重要的,還有證件照片,在辦理學(xué)生證的時候會用得上。還有一些其他學(xué)校需要你準(zhǔn)備的文件,你一定都要帶齊全了,把他們都放在你隨身攜帶的包包里面,放在大行李箱里面也會很麻煩。

  二、費(fèi)用

  到馬來西亞去讀書是有英語的要求的`,所有有需要學(xué)習(xí)英語的學(xué)生要接受英語的培訓(xùn),如果是在國內(nèi)學(xué)習(xí)3個月的話費(fèi)用是5000元左右,在馬來西亞學(xué)習(xí)英語的費(fèi)用是8000元左右。在課程的學(xué)習(xí)上面要看你們選的學(xué)校,在公立學(xué)校讀本科的學(xué)費(fèi)是8000元-12000元之間,碩士的學(xué)費(fèi)是12000-15000元之間,在馬來西亞的非公立學(xué)校讀書的學(xué)費(fèi)是30000-40000元之間,碩士一般是學(xué)習(xí)一年半學(xué)費(fèi)是70000元。另外還有生活費(fèi)用3500元-5000元一個月,一年下來在生活上面的花費(fèi)是42000元到60000元左右。

  三、生活類

  1、衣物:馬拉西亞是沒有冬天的,所以羽絨服等非常厚的衣服是不需要帶的,多帶幾件T恤,就你們平時在國內(nèi)夏天穿的衣物就可以,鞋子也是。衣服、鞋子在馬來西亞好一點(diǎn)的都比國內(nèi)的要貴,所以還是從國內(nèi)帶過去會好一點(diǎn)。

  2、文具:你在上課的時候做筆記需要用到的筆記本還有熒光筆,鉛筆、橡皮擦、筆芯也都帶上,如果你使用鋼筆的話,也帶一瓶墨水過來,還有小型的訂書機(jī)等等,你可以把這些東西都放在你的文具包里面不會散落出來。

  3、洗漱用品:洗漱用品雖然在馬來西亞的超市里面有賣,而且還便宜,但是短時間你可能沒有時間去購買,你可以從家里帶少量的過來,等到把這部分的用完之后,再去超市買,還有一些護(hù)膚品這里也是要比國內(nèi)的要便宜,不需要從家里帶很多過來。

  4、藥品:帶一些常見的藥品,比如感冒的、過敏的、止癢的、中暑的等等,平時用藥就可以治好的小病就不用去診所了。

  5、防曬用品:馬來西亞的天氣非常的曬,防曬霜是最最重要的,還有太陽鏡、太陽帽、遮陽傘,這些可以把它帶齊。

Personally I am willing toparticipate in any activity that will broaden any chance of making my ambitionsbecome a reality. I have been playing rugby league for many years andI thoroughly enjoy this sport and my love for sport prolongs more and more theolder I get. Since I have been playing this sport I have gained verysophisticated disciplinary skills and I have found the ability to transfer theseskills into everyday life and everyday situations. I have been the appointedcaptain of many different teams and I am told by mentors that my leadershipskills are very mature and disciplined.
